One the best things about having a toddler is interactive play. And we couldnt be happier about having a little guy, at this age, during this time of year. Why? Because we can play outside.
So we live in New York City (well, Queens to be exact) but you get the idea. In any case, the extent of our outdoor space is a concrete stoop and a couple of window boxes, so we appreciate the free public space that New York has to offer. We're just a 10 minute subway ride from Central Park - which lends itself to walks, kite flying and picnics. But we also have options closer to home. Within walking distance are two great playgrounds, both of which we're frequent visitors.
Of course the turtle is still too small to ride, climb or slide down everything. But he loves the swings and seems to get a kick out of pulling himself up on the various levels and bars that make up the play area.
The only downside of our visits is the germ sharing. My little guy is currently fighting a nasty cold, which I have no doubt he picked up at the playground.
